We are all, in part, foreign to ourselves.

CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST AND PSYCHOANALYST IN PARIS AND ONLINE

I’m Yasmine Calil, a clinical psychologist and psychoanalyst based in Paris. I offer individual therapy for adults in English, Portuguese and French, both in person and online.

My practice brings together psychoanalytic research and years of international clinical experience with adults from different countries and cultural backgrounds.

WHAT CAN BRING SOMEONE TO THERAPY?

YOU DON'T NEED TO KNOW EXACTLY WHY YOU WANT TO BEGIN.

Therapy can begin when something that once seemed to work no longer does in the same way, or when something in your life has become difficult to understand or transform on your own.

Relationships and recurring patterns

Identity, belonging, living abroad and life transitions

You do not need to arrive with a perfectly formulated question. The work begins with what you are living through and develops from the particular way it connects with your history, relationships and desires.

Anxiety, loneliness and emotional exhaustion

Work, decisions and questions of meaning

MY APPROACH

Listening to what cannot immediately be translated.

Working across different languages and cultures has shaped an approach in which words and experiences are not assumed to have the same meaning for everyone. In therapy, we take the time to understand how you make sense of what you are living through, from within your own history, relationships and cultural references, including what may still be difficult to name or translate.

Language can also change our proximity to certain emotions, the way a memory is narrated and what becomes possible to say. Sessions can take place in English, Portuguese or French. For those who live between languages, choosing or moving between them can itself become part of the therapeutic process.

Tact in clinical practice

Tact means considering not only what can be explored in therapy, but also how and when it can be approached. Rather than moving too quickly towards an interpretation, I work at a pace that allows difficult or sensitive experiences to emerge without being forced or simplified.

This creates a therapeutic relationship that remains attentive to vulnerability, emotion and what develops between us over time. You can expect a process that makes room for complexity and contradiction, without reducing your experience to a fixed category or a ready-made explanation.

FOR COMPANIES

Bringing the practice of listening into organisations.

Alongside my clinical practice, I work with companies and leaders through TACT, a consultancy focused on the human dynamics that shape the way people work, communicate and lead.

TACT creates structured spaces for listening within organisations, helping make visible what can otherwise remain difficult to identify: tensions within teams, gaps between leadership and employees, communication patterns, cultural differences and the human impact of organisational change.

The work moves between employees, leadership and HR, translating what emerges through listening into a deeper understanding of the organisation and its relationships.

At its core is a simple idea: better leadership begins with the ability to listen.

A first conversation

You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. A first consultation is an opportunity to talk about what brings you here and consider whether beginning a therapeutic process together feels right.
